Me and my friend were going to burger king, and i pulled into a parking space, and i was in a hurry. It was a really crappy job of parking so i was all like "alright i gotta back up and fix this" and before i did i checked to my left..nobody was there. i checked to my right.. nobody was there. and then i started looking behind me and going.. my mistake? i didn't check back to the left again, and of course theres a car coming.. except i dont see the white pickup until i see it through my back windshield and at this point i stopped as quick as i could but hit him. Now in this car there were a man and a woman. the man was driving. I got out and told them i was sorry. this is my first time ever being in a situation like this, im 16 and got my license a few months ago. the first thing the woman in the truck says is "im going to need your information" i went to go back to my car at this point to grab the insurance information and everything like that, but as i do she calls back to me and said something that i didnt really hear. So i turn around and ask "what?" she says "if you give us 20 bucks we'll just pretend this never happened." well they seemed to be in a hurry, and so was I. So I decided "fine" and gave them 20 bucks. Then i proceeded to get back into my car and I pulled up away from the pickup to survey the damage of my car, at which point the woman in the truck does the same for hers. My car has no damage whatsoever when I look at it now, and neither does theirs. It must have been okay with them because the second the woman got back in the car the truck sped away (looked like they were in one hell of a hurry too) and left. So I figure this is all said and done and nothing more will happen. Anyways me and my friend go into the burger king (after correcting my parking) and eat. then after i take him back to his house, i get out and check the car once again. I can just barely see 2 little pinch sized dents in the rear bumper of my dads car. Hardly noticeable. So me, not wanting to get in trouble, decided not to tell anybody about it. It was actually earlier today that this happened. So i came home, and nobody noticed and I didn't say a thing. But i was telling my girlfriend about what happened and she said that if they get my license plate number or anything like that then they can get all the information they need, and after looking at a few things online I am now starting to worry that they may call their insurance company and who knows what they will say or do. My parents told me they put me on their insurance and my dads car that i was driving is good as far as paperwork and everything goes. But should i maybe let my parents know about it so we can call insurance and do something about it before the other driver decides to take action, even though they told me they wont? I just don't exactly trust them, they seemed like they were in a hurry and probably didn't want to deal with all this, but me being a new and inexperienced driver (which i am sure they noticed) just wanted to get this over with. So I gave them 20 bucks like an idiot, but maybe they are thinking they can get more money out of me if I was willing to give them 20 just like that. Anyways what do you guys think I should do? I'm a little new to the whole "accident" situation. car insurance. Auto parts : A/C Compressor Jaguar 1997. A/C Fan Relay Jeep 1998. A/C Fuel Line Disconnect Tool Kia 1999. Honda . How to Change Oil on a BMW 330German cars are different than American or Japanese cars, and one particular example is the oil filter. On an American car, the oil filter is at the bottom of the engine and is a complete assembly. On a German car, the filter is typically a filter cartridge, mounted on the top of the engine. It's almost easier to replace than an American oil filter, because it doesn't spill oil down your arm, but there are different steps involved. In this case, the project vehicle is a 2001 BMW 330i, but the process is similar for other vehicles as well. Difficulty:Moderately Easy Instructions Things You'll Need 3/8-inch ratchet and socket set Drain pan Replacement oil filter element kit Jack Jack stands 6.5 quarts synthetic 10w-40 motor oil Step by Step : 1 Open the hood and locate the oil filter housing, which is at the front of the engine, just to the right of center. Remove the cap on the housing using the 3/8-inch ratchet and socket, then remove the cover and lift the oil filter element out of the engine. Allow the excess oil to drain from the filter so that you don't make a mess. 2 Slide off the old oil filter element and throw it away. Remove the O-ring on the oil filter housing as well. Lubricate the replacement O-ring that's included with the replacement filter element using the motor oil, then install it on the housing. Slide the replacement filter onto the housing, then reinstall the assembly onto the engine using the 3/8-inch ratchet and socket. Be careful not to over-tighten the housing, as you could damage it. 3 Raise up the front of the vehicle using the jack and set it on the jack stands. Make sure the vehicle is solidly on the stands before crawling underneath. Slide the drain pan underneath the oil pan. Open the drain plug on the bottom of the oil pan using the ratchet, and allow the engine oil to drain into the pan. Once it's complete, reinstall the drain plug with a new gasket (included with the oil filter kit) and tighten it in place using the ratchet. 4 Open the oil fill cap on the top of the engine with your hand and fill the engine with the oil. Once complete, lower the vehicle off the stands using the jack and set it on the ground. Tips & Warnings Oil flows easier if it's warm, so working on a hot engine isn't typically a problem. If you do decide to change your oil on a warm engine, however, make sure to wear gloves and protective gear to avoid burns. ResourcesMidway Auto Supply BMW Oil filter
Honda . How to Check Oil in a BMW Z4The BMW Z4 is a series of cars with the unique feature that you can check the oil on the dashboard using their computer system. You never have to get your hands dirty like you do when you check the oil level the old-fashioned way. Using a computer to check the oil level is more accurate than trying to visually gauge the level on the dipstick. Difficulty:Moderately Easy Instructions Step by Step : 1 Drive your Z4 for at least ten minutes to warm up the oil. You shouldn't read the oil level on a "cold" car, as it won't be accurate. 2 Put your Z4 into park on a level surface area, not a tilted driveway. Leave the engine running. 3 Press the "1" button on your turn signal stick until the dash reading says "Oil". 4 Press "2" on the turn signal to see the current oil level. It will show you a picture of a dipstick with the level on it. It will also tell you whether you need to add oil, and how much. Tips & Warnings Your oil reading should be between the "Min" and "Max" levels on the display's graphic. *8. Reattach the linkages, pipes, hoses, and so on in the reverse order in which you took them off. The idle mixture screws and idle speed screws on the new carburetor should be preset by the manufacturer. If you installed a rebuilt one and it doesn't function properly, you may have to adjust them yourself. You can find instructions on how to do so earlier in this chapter. .Chapter 13: Keeping Your Fuel System in Tune EH Have someone with experience check your work when you're through, before you head for the freeway. Checking the Compression in \lour Cylinders If your vehicle has been running roughly or seems to be losing power, it's possible that there is a lack of pressure in one or more of the cylinders. If there isn't enough pressure, the fuel/air mixture won't explode. If there's less pressure than there should be, the mixture won't explode as efficiently. If one or more cylinders has a good deal less pressure than the others, the car won't run evenly. Now, why wouldn't there be enough pressure? Because something is letting the pressure escape from the cylinder. Where can it go? Basically, two places: either out through one of the valve openings — because the valve is improp erly adjusted or so worn that it doesn't close properly — or down past the 655

These rings prevent the pressure at the top of the cylin ders from escaping and the oil that lubricates the engine from entering the cylinders. When the rings get worn, oil gets in and pressure gets out. To determine whether this is the case in your vehicle, you need to check the compression in the cylinders. For this job, you need a compression gauge (see Figure 13-18). This device tests the amount of pressure that the piston exerts on the fuel/air mixture before the spark plug fires the mixture. Your compression gauge can tell you whether your cylinder is firing efficiently and whether your rings or valves are worn or out of adjustment. These gauges don't cost much, and using them doesn't take much time or effort. Honda . What can cause your car to jerk other than the transmission slipping?
either it's abs (anti braking syatem) or gas sloshing around in the tankTime for a tune up. Chevrolet Suburban 1500. * Some gauges screw into the spark plug opening, and others have to be held in place. Checking compression is easier if you have someone to assist you, especially if your gauge needs to be held in place (see Figure 13-19). Here's how to use a compression gauge: 1. Unless you want to buy or borrow a remote starter switch, have someone sit in the driver's seat with the engine off, the gearshift in Park or Neutral, and the emergency brake on. 2. On non-General Motors vehicles, pull the big wire that leads to the coil from the center of the distributor cap and lean the metal connector against a metal surface as far away from the spark plugs as possible. One plug has three wires leading to it; the other has one wire. Pull this second plug and get it out of the way. .Chapter 13: Keeping Your Fuel System in Tune On vehicles with distributorless ignitions, disconnect the electrical connector at the ignition module. If you're not sure what to disconnect, ask a mechanic. 3. Before you remove them, label the boots that connect each spark plug wire to a spark plug so that you can remember which plug each boot was attached to. If you get them mixed up, you can really screw up your engine. 4. Remove all the spark plugs and lay them down in a clean place. Honda . Will a 1995 model motor fit in a 1993 model truck?
